First, I would like to sincerely apologize for dropping the ball and not getting back to
you right away. I had discussed your frustrations and
concerns with our Corporate office, back in September but forgot to
relay the information to you. With that being said, I have researched
your inquiry from all angles. Here is the information I was able to
obtain and what Sam Ash can do for you.
I spoke with Ernie (customer relations) at Gretsch, and he has informed me that the design
on the 10 hoop or any hoop has not changed in over 40 years. As for the rim mounts,
they are in fact incorrect. At your discretion, I can order the correct rim mounts with
Gretsch today, and ship them to you at our expense. Again, if you have no need for this I
will refund the money for in which you paid.
As for the snare drum, this was canceled by Thoroughbred Music per Ernie at Gretsch. He is
unable to give me a reason why. Keep in mind this transaction was from Thoroughbred Music
which I have no record of. In this case your dispute is with Thoroughbred, not Sam Ash
Music.
However, if you would like to purchase this through Sam Ash dot com I can order it ASAP
and production time on this is around 6 months.
I am sorry for the inconvenience that Thoroughbred may have caused you.
I hope you find Sam Ash Music Corporation as a friend as we try and resolve Thoroughbreds
issue.
Please advise me of what you would like to do.
Best Regards

Please understand I am able to provide you with an exchange on the
hoops and rims because we stock these items. However, because you do not have a
snare drum to exchange, I am unable to help you with this matter.
What we can, we will do our best to help you out. Again, you're claim is with
Thoroughbred, not Sam Ash

Sam ash took over Thoroughbred, right ?
Cynthia AND Paul J Ash told me in June that you were sending me the missing parts (see
attached files). Now why are you telling me that's not your problem ?
If Sam Ash is the owner of Thoroughbred then YOU have to contact them.
I forward all the story to Paul J Ash.

I ordered a Gretsch drum kit from Thoroughbred Music in September 98 and received it in
May 99. Some parts were not the ones I had ordered and others were missing.
You told me you took over T.Bred and Cynthia told me you were sending the missing parts
(see attached files) in june 99.
I had to hire a lawyer after waiting 3 months with no answers in spite of sending you
DOZENS AND DOZENS of faxes and emails, she sent you 2 registered letters, the first one in
september and you did not reply and the second one in december 99.
I paid more than 3500$ for the kit, 50$ to sent you back the wrong parts then more than
180$ to my lawyer and now 16 months later the kit is not complete.
Now I'm VERY tired of your employees telling me it's NOT their problem (see attached
files) and offering to order the parts I already paid to T.Bred.
You're the owner of T.Bred, tell them to do their job.
If I can't obtain satisfaction I will take you to court here in France, then I will hire a
lawyer in the US if needed and I will make a special web page with all the story and post
messages with a link to the site in ALL the music newsgroups for years, to let the world
know how you treat your customers.
